Have you ever gotten the sense that there is something deeper going on in yoga class than alignment cues, stretching the body and flowing with the breath? Have you wondered what sthira sukham asanam means? Or exactly what the yamas and niyamas are? This workshop explores several of the major ideas in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras including: What is yoga? What are its aims and goals? Why is it so difficult to still the fluctuations of the mind? What are the obstacles to Yoga? How can we avoid future suffering? And, what is the eight-fold path?
We’ll take a practical look at several passages each class and walk away with simple tools to make living the sutras accessible and relevant.
